Reflecting on 2023 Achievements, Anticipating 2024!

Join us on a journey through the milestones of the past year and catch a glimpse of the exciting plans for 2024! We can't wait to continue making a positive impact together. Watch this brief video and let's embark on another year of growth and community empowerment ... making Topeka a great place to live, work and give.

Highlights from 2023

  1. Financial Strength: In 2023 the Foundation received contributions of more than $9 million. We granted more than $6 million back into our community in support of education, health and additional fields of interest.

  2. Donor Services: 14 new funds were established at the Foundation in 2023 – each with its own charitable purpose.

  3. Community Impact: Our commitment to looking upstream at systems, policies and environments led to impact investments in affordable housing which will provide lasting opportunities within Topeka.

Celebrating 40 Years

The Topeka Community Foundation celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023. Forty years of growth. Forty years of grant making. Forty years of impact.

We began in 1983 with a $10,000 grant from the Junior League. Since then, we have increased to a full-time staff of five, grown to more than $100 million in assets and become a philanthropic leader in our community.

In 2024, you can expect progress updates from us on:

  • Mental Health: Working with partners to identify, support and provide leadership around making progress on this important issue.

  • Impact Investing: Creatively building a pipeline of investments to impact social good in Shawnee County.

  • Donor Engagement: Providing donor experiences and education which add value today – while we lead conversations about charitable legacies.
