2018 Grant Information

The Topeka Community Foundation provides a variety of funding opportunities through grants and permanent funding, as well as resources to assist your organization.

How are we unique?

We're grantmakers

We reinvest more than $2 million each year into nonprofits working hard to improve our community. Our Greater Topeka Fund and initiative grants  each focus on a different aspect of life in Topeka and Shawnee County. This offers you a clear and predictable means for planning your grant requests.

We're donor services

We help you grow your funding through organization funds held right here at the Foundation. Endowments offer a predictable source of income in an unstable funding environment. We realize you need more than simply program-specific funding to improve our community. Rather, it’s a combination of resources: financial, relational and intellectual.

We're community conveners

Information we gather during our competitive grant programs, combined with one-on-one discussions with public officials, donors and nonprofits, offer us broad and deep insight into the pressing needs and prevailing beliefs in our community. This better positions us to make vital links between funders, charities, public officials and everyday citizens. It also positions us to offer you more holistic nonprofit guidance.

2018 Grant Opportunities

Area of Focus: Community Health in Shawnee County

Shawnee County currently ranks 65th of 102 Kansas counties in overall health. Non-profit organizations who are interested in addressing the root causes of a community's poor health, i.e. the social determinants of health, are invited to consider "big experiments". These "experiments" may include collaboration between organizations, may be multi-year in nature, and should be aimed at moving the needle in addressing poverty in our community.
